As with any investment, the resources required to create a bespoke, private, exclusive and very special family vacation are considerable. Not just in terms of material investments, often more importantly we consider the investment of precious time that principals take away from their normal business activities. We have seen directly that by taking the distinct requirements of all members of the family into account - and this includes children - the eventual positive return on these investments is considerably greater!
On any journey in collaboration and communication with the principles or their team we seek to understand every traveller’s distinct requirements. For any children and young adults travelling, at the very least we try to ensure that whatever activities and team members are involved in those activities, are especially suited to their needs.
In addition, where we bring in subject experts, be they a conservation specialist, scientist, archaeologist or the like, we do aim to prepare content suited to all concerned. We understand if the children are happy, then the rest of the family can relax more!
Extending this further, we have partnered with pioneering educator Dr Hugh McCormick to be available to consult and if required travel with guests to ensure the younger generation get the optimal benefit from their time on vacation, in this way engaging them during a portion of the day freeing time up for the older generations.

Within the context of an individual family journey, our team can liaise with principals and potentially prepare a dynamic programme delivered during the vacation which dovetails with current educational syllabuses while also making the most of the destination of the journey itself. This can be accomplished in both static locations as well as during any activities such as hiking, diving, cultural visits, or even exposure and immersion in civil or government institutions in the host country.
Activities could also include executive coaching, environmental studies and even video / media capture, editing and publishing! In this way each individual youngster is fully engaged, and is complimenting their term-time learning in a fun and substantial way. For younger children we can organise the best Montessori qualified day carers to ensure they are happy, engaged in their unfamiliar yet exciting environment, while also learning great things while they play!
With regular scheduling during the journey, the entire party can re-group every afternoon for example so that the precious family time is optimised, while also freeing the adults up for some focussed time in the mornings with fewer distractions. During evenings, time can be allocated for everyone to review the days learning and for the youngsters to teach the adults what they have learned that day to add an additional fun, very positive and constructive element to a family vacation!

The principals applied during a single journey can also be applied over the course of a strategically planned number of journeys, possibly over several years. This could take in some of the world’s most revealing destinations for political history, natural sciences, evolution, human origins, ancient trade routes etc. For older children this planning and delivery can be in the context of their exam programme, be it A-Levels, Advanced Placement or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
Specific tutoring for university entry can also be introduced and advanced during the vacation time.
For younger children the advanced planning and learning on anticipated family vacations would be determined by distinct interests, specific needs and requirements.
Curated and supported gap year / sabbatical year travel
A gap or sabbatical year is normally taken by youngsters on the year between their leaving high school and going to University. It can be a wonderful time of excitement, anticipation, independence, and thrilling adventure! Many embark on a round the world adventure, perhaps taking in some of the cultural sites in Europe, the more curious may head into sub-Saharan Africa or the Indian subcontinent, then many don’t want to miss the party ringed shores of South East Asia, many choose to work in Australia or New Zealand before the South Pacific Islands serve as a relaxing place to hop to South America then coast to coast in North America before returning home perhaps.
A wonderful time! But between a phenomenal school education and a globally leading university, we know there is so much more that can be experienced, enhancing all of the excitement, anticipation, feeling of independence and adventure, while also building on the education already received, and preparing optimally for the education about to be received.
As well preparing all route planning, logistics and accommodation as well as all expected adventure and leisure that a gap year cannot do without, we can also arrange placements with leading conservationists or scientists, investment banks, human resources or executive headhunters - essentially, a broad range of professional and executive experience globally, in whatever field the youngster is curious about engaging in when older. Practical skills such as rafting certification, dive master qualification or even learning to master Mandarin while working on a pioneering fintech community project in Yunnan province in China could also be woven in.
Our reach can be direct - we can arrange to travel with the youngster throughout, or we can be less involved while still ensuring all movements are safe, secure and well managed. We can also prepare a specific security plan ensuring the youngster is never far from assistance when needed, either with one of our security partners close by, or by using a phone app or panic button triggering assistance if ever required - anywhere at any time.
